About the Author

I’m an indie author currently living on the Texas coast with my partner and family, plus a sweet Great Pyrenees named Bella Love.

I’m a lifelong New York Yankees and Jets fan and became obsessed with the Dallas Stars while living in the Dallas-Ft Worth area for 15 years.

I’m a creative at heart, so when I had the idea for Someone To Watch Over Me, I did a quick character outline and then it sat in a Word doc for a year. I would look at it from time to time and make adjustments, but I never got around to writing anything. The main character would invade my brain on long drives, and I would see a movie scene flash through my head. When the movie started interrupting my sleep, I thought, “Well, what now? I don’t know anything about writing a book, not for real at least.” But still, she nagged and kept hitting play on the movie in my brain. In February 2025, I finally said, “Fine, Carmindy, let’s see what we can come up with.” And now here we are. With the help of a couple of writer’s groups on Facebook and some friends who have just given me so much encouragement and love, we are nearing the end of this journey. The book was self-published and became available online June 22, 2025.

And because I loved the characters so much, Smith in particular, I felt compelled to write a book for him as well. “Still Chasing You” picks up shortly after “Someone”. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed writing it. Although it is part of the now-titled love/life Series, it can be read as a standalone book as the other two upcoming titles can be.

When I’m not writing, I’m spending time with my boyfriend & kids, hanging out with my friends, playing golf, traveling, or reading one of my favorite authors.
