About the Author
I'm an indie author living on the Texas coast with my partner, family, and our sweet Great Pyrenees, Bella Love.
I'm a lifelong New York Yankees and New York Jets fan, and after spending 15 years in the Dallas–Fort Worth area, I also became a devoted Dallas Stars fan.
I've always been a creative person, but I never imagined I'd write a novel. The idea for Someone To Watch Over Me began with a simple character outline that sat untouched in a Word document for nearly a year. Every so often I'd open it, make a few changes, and close it again. But the story refused to leave me alone. During long drives, scenes would play in my head like a movie, and eventually those scenes started waking me up at night. Finally, in February 2025, I gave in and said, "Fine, Carmindy. Let's see where this goes."
What followed was an incredible journey. With the support of talented writers, amazing friends, and a few wonderful Facebook writing communities, that story became my debut novel. Someone To Watch Over Me was self-published on June 22, 2025, turning a persistent idea into a dream come true.
Books two through four continue the story and deal with the aftermath of "Someone" and gives a more complete look into the lives of the Welchs and their friends and extended family.
When I'm not writing, you'll usually find me spending time with my family and friends, watching The Rookie, traveling, cheering on my favorite sports teams, or getting lost in a great book.
